building a large storage shed.?

My dad and I want to build a barn like storage shed like 12X14, we are building it on our vacation land we own. We are going to use this thing for a tiny cabin with a bunk bed in the back and a wood burner up front. We also want it to be tall enough to make a loft like bed in the top. We have only built a outside shower up there so we don't have alot of experience in building things, we also have a small budget so we don't want to get a kit. What are the steps that we have to take? and would a barn style shed be best or something else?

I built one from a kit from the local hardware store (not a big box store) for $1000. It was 10x16. As someone else already mentioned, you will need to look into local building codes. I love the idea of a small storage building/bunk house. Always wanted to do that. Have fun. By the way, keep in mind that you will want an exit at the opposite end of the building, away from the fire...just in case. And make sure that it is not super "air tight" as the fire will consume lots of oxygen.
