is your 2 year old toddler intimidated by other kids?

my daughter has some friends who are a year older and are boys they are a bit more rougher but she doesn't stand up for herself she just falls downs and looks to me to do something and its to the point now where she doesn't even want to be near them, I dont' blame her but she needs to learn to interact with kids more and stick up for herself any tips, she is a very girly girl lol

my two year old was being intimidated by my niece, she is three months younger than him, she used to shove him and knock him over and take things from him, and he would hide behind me when he saw her coming. i know its wrong but just once i wanted him to give her a good push back! we told her it was wrong, she needed to be nice and to share, but she just didn't seem to get it. eventually he must have got fed up of it because he knocked her on her butt, and took his ball back from her. she hasn't tried anything like that since. every kid is different. some are rowdy, some are quiet. i think they all just start to stand up for them selves when they are ready.
