I have this TV two days ago, delivery was smooth, also located in the basement of my house (I tip). We unboxed the TV and tune in the set, I looked for any damage to the documents signed. I have Verizon FiOS, we encrypt everything, but the channels of local government. But after hanging the TV on the wall (with screws on the back of the TV was good), QAM channel scanning to open and play with the settings that the weak point. In fact, I used the built-in auto-tuning for this, looks good Damm. Blacks improved, local news (Philadelphia) looked good in HD. dominant color was great, I have a media server and the Ethernet cable connected. I like the interface for my media, I found my Twonky server and was able to play in the short term with Avis and release MKVs. I have a file that can not decode the audio, said that when he started to play the file. I kicked him in the BBC series about the life of 1080p and look good. I have another Panasonic top of the stairs, for some years. The reason for one less star is that the deeper blacks on this set. From his new, that could change in LG. I'm working with a break in DVD, this is not my main TV for 1,000 hours to go fast. I updated the post after the break-in period. I have a light into the room, who appeared on TV. The reflection was enough that he needed to see the light. I had a small LCD TV in the same place, I understood that. Making a table lamp trap needs repair. This is a plasma, and has not 50PK950 anti-reflective (ha). 

TV Widgets are cool, I hope more will come and Yahoo Widgets. Twitter is available, but the book with the addition of the face would be great. 

I offer that Amazon HTIB, remote operations on both devices included. I do not think the remote is universal, so that adding a cable box could be a problem. I do some research, but I'll be using a Harmony remote anyway. So have a great time on TV is worth it, I can not even find a problem with her. After reading all comments, worrying about the black levels and detailed specifications on the websites of others AVS, I can say that this is a nice TV.

Bang for your buck!

Purchased this Plasma 5/15/2010 it arrived within the window provided 5/24/2010. 

Set up was a breeze. Plugged in all the HDMI cables in the back, as well as the CAT5 for the internet connection and a composite cable so I can see my receiver menu on the screen. Also plugged in the coax for OTA reception and the optical audio out connection. Fired it up and was very impressed. I'm not one of those guys that notices or pretends to notice every little picture detail or insignificant imperfection. All I know is that the HD feeds from the antenna look awesome. I'm watching the NBA Finals right now and it's being shown in 720P and it's incredible. 

There are plenty of preset picture settings and 2 Expert Modes that you can set how you want if you don't like any of the presets. I prefer the THX Bright Room personally. I also have an HTPC hooked up via one of the HDMI ports in the back and the TV handles the PC very well. The HD movies played from the PC also look great. 

The internet features are pretty good too. Netflix through the NetCast feature provides a free 30 day trial. You sign up online from a PC then enter a code that the TV provides. You can then add all your movies to the Netflix queue and they show up on the TV. Watched a couple streamed in HD and it's impressive. The YouTube feature is also pretty cool. You can search and stream anything from YouTube. Of course YouTube's video quality isn't the best, but it's convenient if you want to show everyone a video without having to crowd around a little computer screen. Push the green button and it pops into full screen. Both the Picasa app and the Flikr app are also good for streaming your pictures without having to connect another component. 

The Yahoo Widgets is also a pretty cool little gadget as well. If you want to check the weather real quick or look at the top headlines, it comes in handy. There may be some issues with this device however. When I first got the set, the Widgets worked fine, then about a week later I pushed the Widget button on the remote and nothing happened. It was dead. Everything else on the TV worked fine, including the NetCast feature so I was debating if I even wanted to get it serviced. I decided I would and called LG. Their customer service was excellent. They sent a service van out about 3 days later and the guy called ahead of time to make sure I was there. He was on time and only took a few minutes to determine that the main board needed replacing. I again had to decide if it was even worth it. He said it's a simple process and only would take a few minutes so I had him order the board last Friday. He showed up again yesterday with the board, helped me take the TV off the wall, unscrewed about 15 screws, replaced the board then screwed everything in. Helped me hang it back up, and all is fine. 

Even with the Widget issue, I'm giving the TV 5 stars. As with any product, there are bound to be occasional issues with individual items. Since the TV was still under warranty I paid nothing and the fix was extremely easy. In fact should something happen in the future and the TV is no longer under warranty, I will try to find a board myself and replace it. 

Considering the picture quality and features this set has all for $1000.00, this is a no brainer. Highly recommended.

Great TV

Best TV I could find for around $1000. I still can't believe I got a TV this nice for the price I paid. The picture isn't as nice as some of the Samsung LED backlit LCD's that cost 3 times as much, but I'm fine with that. 

It looks great mounted on the wall. The bezel isn't thin, but it blends in very nicely with the rest of the TV because the screen glass covers it. 

The sound is very good from the built in speakers. Really clear at low volume. 

TV itself is very thin. 

Inputs are reachable even after mounting it on the wall with a low profile tilting mount. 

Netcast stuff works great (using wired ethernet). It's really nice to have Netflix so easily accessible, and YouTube is fun to play around with. Unfortunately, Pandora is only available on the LG BluRay Player, so you'll have to switch inputs to get your music. 

I am 100% satisfied with this TV.

Great overall plasma in a slick design

Got this TV for my parents a few weeks ago. No issues so far. THX is overrated; we've been viewing in the "Vivid" or "Sports" mode. The menu UI is great. A great feature that my parents appreciate is that the menu language can be changed to Korean. The TV played MKV-files without a hitch straight from my thumb drive. The design is really slick with just one flat plane of glass - eliminating edges and corners where dust can accumulate.

I originally wanted a Panasonic wireless but after reading several reviews and found a very low price i took the chance and what a WINNER I was when I received it! Very happy with it! I got it even cheaper than the Panasonic P42G25. The only "negative"side is the lack of the wireless dongle that you must purchase apart, but this seems to be a general policy among top TV brand names. Definitely I recommend it!

Xbox 360 Vs. PS2 Vs. PS3?

I'm thinking of buying a new gaming console. I have never owned one in my life but have played on my brothers old PS1. I'm into games like NFS, WWE, NBA, Madden. Not much of a shoot em up person. I do care abt grafix and storage. I have a wireless LAN connection as well. Which console wud you recommend?

I live in Singapore. It wud be nice if you can give me advice specific to the region (eg. price of console as well as games)

Regardless of price and hardware, it's all about games.

If your worried about price. PS2 is an awesome investment. you can get one for about $120 american dollars.
Theres planty of great games on PS2 plus you can play all great PS1 games on it.

Good games like, Final Fantasy series, Resident Evil, God of War, Tekken, Metal Gear 2,3. The list goes on.

But if your into online playing like PC gaming you'd want to go with the next generation system.

The PS3 has superior hardware but what it lacks is costant great games. There is certainly some awesome games coming out for the system but not on a constant basis.

Plus the price is outstanding. Now priced at $500 American Dollars, comes with a 60 gig harddrive. Online gaming is free but you get what you paid for.

The Xbox 360 is my personal favorite. Plus now it is being dropped to $350 for a premium system.
The 360 has an awesome lineup of great games.
Gears of War, Lost Planet, Guitar Hero II. Plus great games coming out- Army of Two, Bioshock, Halo 3

But the downloadable content and online gameplay makes this system stand out. Plus the fact that it's easier for game compantys to create games for this system.

The online is $50 a year, but almost every game has online capacity. If you have friends playing on Xbox live it's a good investment

So if moneys an issue go for a PS2, games and system is cheap. Plus it was an amazing System.
If you cn afford it, go for an Xbox 360. Sony's is having a hardtime making it worth the $500 for the system.

two things I forgot, too make the 360 wireless you need to buy and adaptor that costs about $99. You can plug it into an internet connection via network cable.

As for ps2, is not wireless.
PS is Wi-Fi capable out of the box.

Twin studies are being used in an attempt to "prove" that human behavior is genetically caused. The findings are mainly based on answers to questionnaire, not studies of the DNA. The investigative process and the so-called results are extremely dubious.

Twin studies have been extremely popular and publicized during the past few decades. Many medical researchers believe that the results may yield answers to the cause of human behavior. They are wrong.

Several twin studies involving identical twins who were raised apart have reported uncanny similarities regarding lifestyles and personal preferences.

Twins separated at birth were smoking the same brand of cigarettes, marrying women with the same names, or choosing similar professions as adults. They are being held up as "scientific evidence" of the genetic influence on behavior.

The conclusions that medical researchers are reaching fail to take into consideration hidden, influential, psychic, subconscious factors, and remote psychic communications that may have been occurring even though the twins were separated by great physical distances.

Humans regularly subconsciously exchange communications with each other. We started doing that naturally when, inside the womb, we were in constant communication with our parents. We did that in psychic-energetic ways. We are all "natural clairvoyants." However, most of us consciously dull ourselves to our natural truth seeing abilities by about age three in order to conform to our parent's selfish way of life. In a selfish environment, truth seeing and truthful expressions are not only unwelcome, they can be dangerous. We all know that.

The basically angry, generally speaking, will be more outward, extroverted, and aggressive. The basically fearful twin will be more inward, introverted, and passive.

Each twin has unique intentions, makes different choices in relation to what they know is truly right and loving, also chooses to selfishly react in different ways to the choices of the key people in his or her life.

Much of the alleged "evidence" for the popular scientific claim that personality traits, behaviors, and disorders are caused by a "combination of natural and environmental factors" comes from extremely dubious research studies.

The data generated by twin studies has emerged not from studying the DNA, it comes mainly from asking research subjects "a list of questions." The subjects' answers were taken on face value. Investigators usually make no attempt to challenge or make any attempt to verify.

The subjects' answers are then processed in sophisticated computers and the "analyzed results" are marketed as "facts" or "indicators of fact." This highly suspect research method has many flaws among the biggest is that it wrongly assumes that most people are honest.

Medical researchers also do attempt to search the Genome (a person's entire heredity information) to single out a particular gene that might be a natural factor causing a particular behavior. Past claims of this sort have all been ultimately disproved, or found impossible to duplicate.

Again, genes do not cause behavior. If they did, every pair of identical twins would behave the same but never do. To get around this inconvenient fact, many medical researchers have become extremely "creative" and conjured up baseless theories that claim that certain genes behave differently than most other genes in that they can remain "dormant" and become "active" later in life. Another ploy is that it is claimed that genes can "predispose" behavior

In spite of all this scientific theoretical twisting and turning, there have been no major medical breakthroughs, no clearly identified genes that geneticists can tie to a disease or disorder, or to characteristics such as sexual preference or a basic personality trait.

what is the difference between a maternal twin & a paternal twin? Paternal babies will not stick together?

I was told that maternal twin consists of 2 babies nurtured inside one egg of the mother. Can be 2 boys or 2 girls and there is a chance that the babies can physically stick together. But paternal twin is that 2 babies nurtured inside 2 eggs individually. In this case, there is very unlikely that babies can stick together. The babies can be 2 boys or 2 girls and can be one boy and one girl. I ask this because I am not sure for the person who told me this may be making fun of me.

You're talking about identical and fraternal twins. Identical is when the egg splits and fraternal is when it is two separate eggs. I have first cousins that are fraternal twins and you can barely tell that they are sisters. It's amazing how different they can be.
