Golf Figures And Figurines

A Golf Figure is a representation of a golf related person, animal, or thing. There are different types of Golf Figure. There are figurines which are smaller than statuettes, which in turn are smaller than Golf Statues. A Golf Statuette is a type of Golf Statue.

The Golf Statue, which is usually of a person or an animal, is often in an outdoors setting, and can also be created with a variety of materials such as bronze casting, metal alloy or concrete.

A Golf Sculpture is a 3-dimensional shape which can be of anything at all related to the game of golf. It is not restricted to representations of living things or objects, but can be an abstraction or anything else the creator wants to portray.

The types of Golf Figures can be roughly categorized as follows:

1. Males

These figures could be figurines, statues or sculptures and are of men or boys in a golf playing position or in a golf setting. This is the most popular type of Golf Figure because males make up a majority of players in the world today.

2. Females

As for the Male Golf Figure, these figures are of women or girls in a golfing position or in a golf setting. They could be figurines, statues, or sculptures, and these figures are very popular too.

3. Fun and Novelty

There are many fun and novelty figures on the market which include ones created by the Walt Disney Company. There are fun figures like Spongebob Squarepants. The figures can be soft toys, small figures, and anything else that has a sense of fun or an unusual angle. A nut from a tree dressed up as a golfer is a good example.

4. Animals

Animal Figures are also popular and are usually of dogs, bears, and other animals made up in golfing gear with clubs or in a golf setting. These figures can be highly entertaining.

5. Celebrities

The most obvious Golf Celebrity Figure is Tiger Woods, who has many figurines available which range from around the ten dollar mark up into the hundreds of dollars. One of the best known of his figures is the 'fist pumping' figure which is a still life of Tiger Woods celebrating a good shot.

6. Bags

There is a small range of Golf Bag Figures available which include items such as key rings and desktop figurines.

7. Carts

Golf Cart Figures are made and range from NASCARs, and ordinary representations of golf carts, up to the valuable and collectible 'The Comic Art of Guillermo Forchino'. These latter figures are well known and very creative impressions of golf carts with their drivers.

9. Miscellaneous

The category of Golf Miscellaneous Figures includes all the odd ones such as lamps, book-ends, curtain weights, and ashtrays. There is a vast selection of these items on the market and the number of them is only limited by people's imaginations. Many of them are collectible.

10. Statues

Golf Statue Figures are generally made for placement in the gardens of people who like or play golf. Statues are normally at least one or two feet high. They are very collectible and are usually sit on a lawn. They can be made from many different materials such as bronze casting, and metal alloy.

11. Trophies

Golf Trophy Figures are the trophy awards that are given out to people after competing in competitions, or to recognize a particular contribution by a player or official. There is an enormous number of these for sale through sports shops, golf shops, and department stores.

These are the basic types of Golf Figures that are available. These are, by and large, the categories that people involved with them use in their work or in their hobbies.

The show is what is known in the animation industry as a "premise" or "outline" show, in that the storyline of each episode is created by writers and animation artists working together on a storyboard (a series of drawings) instead of working from a written script. Although a script is obviously necessary, in this process the script is the storyboard, usually includes a minimum of written dialogue, and is arguably a more visual approach to producing animated comedy for kids. The last "premise show" to be produced by Disney Television was Nightmare Ned, a short-lived series on the air in 1996. Walt Disney himself was a proponent of working out plots of films in storyboard form. Another proponent of the technique is John Lasseter of Pixar. Most cartoons before the 1960s used this technique, and it was brought back by Ren & Stimpy. Many of the crew from Rocko's Modern Life and SpongeBob SquarePants, where Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh started in animation, also worked on Ren & Stimpy.

The series creators, Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, have been writer-directors on many innovative animated series (Rocko's Modern Life, SpongeBob SquarePants, Family Guy etc.) Povenmire and Marsh conceived and developed the concept, stories, and music for the series, assisted by Story Editor/Composer Martin Olson, a comedy writer known for his unique work on numerous other "unscripted" animated series. (Povenmire, Marsh and Olson also worked together on the animated series Rocko's Modern Life. They recently added Zac Moncrief as a Writer-Director to their crew (Family Guy').
